This course introduces pathway-related concepts related to human biology and healthcare as well as developing relevant academic skills in order to prepare students for further study in their chosen specialty.

 

Learning Outcomes:

1.       Demonstrate broad operational and theoretical knowledge in human biology with a healthcare context.

2.       Work independently and collaboratively to apply solutions to context-relevant academic tasks and problems in human biology and healthcare.

3.       Apply a range of literacy and communication skills using appropriate media relevant to the field of human biology and healthcare.

1.       Define personal identity and develop pathway related identity within Aotearoa/ New Zealand.

2.       Draw on mātauranga Māori to contribute to an understanding of pathway related knowledge and skills

3.       Source and analyse published research to present findings in a form that is relevant to the pathway

4.       Create and evaluate long term study career plans.


This course aims to provide students with a broad theoretical and operational understanding of the elements of selected live performance traditions and practices from early history up to contemporary times. Students will develop awareness through exploration, and production, of live performance, cultural contexts and forms.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explore and discuss concepts of effective storytelling in a range of performance contexts.
  2. Compare and contrast elements of historical and contemporary performance technique and theory in collaborative and independent contexts.
  3. Analyse and interpret the cultural and political contexts of Performing Arts practices.
