This programme is a nationally-led engineering qualification developed by six of New Zealand’s largest institutes of technology and polytechnics (ITPs). It is approved under a new national framework in New Zealand for three-year engineering technology degrees.
From 2010, electrical and mechanical engineering first-year topics (Electrical and Electronic Principles 1, Electrical and Electronic Principles 2 and Materials Science) may also be offered at Unitec. These topics will be taught in conjunction with the first-year civil engineering programme. However, availability is dependant on sufficient enrolments being received.
