Course aim: To provide students with a deep understanding of the principles of information security in cyber space, enabling them to analyze various phases in the Cyber Attack Cycle and plan prevention mechanisms into their network design.

This is a dynamic and well-balanced mixture of practical and theoretical course with ONE research project worth 50% of final mark and ONE theoretical final exam worth 50% remaining marks. The research project is aimed to explore, analyze, and implement one of most recent Cyber Threats and to study and propose possible defense mechanisms to thwart it. However, the students need to get at least 40% in the final exam to pass the course in addition to getting a total of 50% overall.
