Students will develop a confident learner identity and the art and design skills necessary for further academic study in their chosen pathway.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Develop a self-directed and systematic approach to synthesize research with practice.
  2. Utilise skills in drawing to generate, develop, and refine ideas.
  3. Demonstrate awareness of traditional and contemporary art and design practice that includes but is not limited to mātauranga Māori.
  4. Demonstrate the appropriate use of media to communicate with clarity and purpose.
