Students will develop a confident learner identity and the art & design skills necessary for further academic study in their chosen pathway.

By the end of this course, students will be able to: 

  1. Experiment through a range of art and design processes, procedures, media, and technologies that includes but is not limited to Māori cultural conventions.
  2. Communicate effectively through art and design skills.
  3. Reflect critically on personal art making processes to generate informed outcomes.
  4. Research and analyse resources related to processes, procedures, materials, and technologies.
