This course introduces students to the dimensions of biopsychosocial health and wellbeing: physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual, and explores the external and internal factors influencing biopsychosocial health and wellbeing within the context of Aotearoa New Zealand society.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify different approaches, views, definitions and representations of biopsychosocial health and wellbeing in Aotearoa New Zealand society.
2. Explore factors that influence the experience of health and wellbeing in both personal and pathway contexts, making reference to key biopsychosocial concepts.
3. Demonstrate broad theoretical knowledge of change and motivation in relation to health and wellbeing and identify and assess the assistance available in the community to support people with change strategies appropriate to a particular health condition.
